Hydro will host a combined analyst and press conference at its corporate headquarters at Drammensveien 260, Oslo, on Monday April 9. The presentation will be hosted by President and CEO Svein Richard Brandtzæg. Representatives from both the internal task force and the external environmental consultancy SGW Services will also present their reports.

Alunorte is in dialogue with the environmental authorities of Pará to resume normal operations in the refinery and the bauxite residue plant. In addition, Alunorte is seeking an agreement with the public prosecutor, Ministério Público. Ministério Público published their counterproposal for an agreement on 26 March 2018. This proposal will be evaluated by the company.
As reported by Hydro website, inspections conducted by several local, state and federal authorities, including environmental regulators IBAMA and SEMAS, confirmed the integrity of the bauxite residue deposits and that there had been no spill or overflow. This was later re-confirmed by relevant authorities in a congressional hearing in Brasilia on 15 March.
Hydro, as the main shareholder of Alunorte, is conducting both an internal and an independent review by environmental consultancy SGW Services to clarify all relevant facts regarding the management of rain and surface water from the Alunorte alumina refinery in Barcarena, northern Brazil. The conclusions from these reviews will be presented in the press conference on April 9.
