Hydro terminates MoU with Golar Power and CELBA for Alunorte alumina refinery

Hydro has announced the termination of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Golar Power and CELBA.
The MoU, which was signed in July 2020, between Hydro’s alumina refinery Alunorte, Golar Power Brasil Participações and Centrais Elétricas Barcarena (CELBA) for the project to bring liquified natural gas (LNG) to the Alunorte alumina refinery has been terminated.
“The decision to terminate the MoU is based on the provisions of the agreement.
Hydro is committed to pursue natural gas as an energy source for the Alunorte refinery and will continue discussions with interested parties,” Hydro said.
