
Hindalco Industries Limited has increased its aluminium products and aluminium ingot prices for the third time in a row, albeit slower than the previous time, with effect from Tuesday, February 9. Hindalco’s aluminium wire rod price has come in at INR 181,850 per tonne after being raised by INR 1,250 per tonne. On Saturday, February 6, the aluminium wire rod price was at INR 180,600 per tonne, up by INR 2,250 per tonne from the previous day.

Hindalco has increased its aluminium billets price by INR 1,250 per tonne as well from INR 176,600 per tonne on February 6 to INR 177,850 per tonne on February 9.
Hindalco’s aluminium ingot price is hovering around INR 170,750 per tonne as of February 9 compared to INR 169,500 per tonne on February 6. This also reflects an increase of INR 1,250 per tonne.
Hindalco Industries Limited links the prices of its aluminium ingot and aluminium products to the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which during February 5-8 increased incessantly to reach at US$ 2025.50 per tonne. On a year-on-year basis, the three-month futures of aluminium on LME are currently up by US$ 332 per tonne or 19.60 per cent.
Aluminium operations of the company, excluding those of its US arm Novelis Inc, generally account for nearly half of its total sales and 70% of its operating profit.
