Hindalco growth to be driven by new projects and Novelis

A key growth driver for Hindalco is the commissioning of a new project this fiscal after a long delay. Additionally, Novelis, its international subsidiary, with its high-value added products and increased focus on recycling will drive earnings in the event of falling aluminium demand.
The Mahan project is scheduled to be commissioned this fiscal and will achieve capacity utilisation levels of 45-50% by FY14. The plant will be operated with better technology, which will reduce power consumption from 14,000 units per tonne now to around 9,000 units per tonne.
