The government of Guinea-Conakry has struck a landmark infrastructure agreement, bringing six mining companies - CDM China, Ashapura Minechem, SMB, Cambia Mining, Dynamic Mining, and TBA - agreeing to jointly modernise and operate the Dapilon Line mining road, a key logistics corridor. The main goal of this agreement is lifting the country’s bauxite production capacity by 50 million tonnes.
The agreement outlines four necessary tasks to reach the ultimate goal. One of them is streamlining mineral transport and the others are cutting operational costs and raising state revenues. ouna Sylla, Minister of Mines and Geology, said: “This agreement is extremely important because it sufficiently demonstrates that today, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, there is a new mining policy in the country, which respects the highest standards in environmental, social and governance terms.”

Infrastructure driving future growth
Each company will be responsible for upgrading sections of the road within or near its concession area. This cooperation is anticipated to enhance the movement of ores to export terminals, increasing competitiveness against larger global producers.
The Dapilon corridor already handles a significant share of Guinea’s output. Once modernised, the corridor could emerge as a regional hub for bauxite logistics and exports.
Strategic partnerships boosting production
The infrastructure deal follows another major development. On September 15, 2025, a subsidiary of Ashapura entered into a strategic cooperation agreement (SCA) with China Railway. The SCA is for a multi-year project developing a Boffa bauxite deposit or mineral resource, which holds reserves exceeding 200 million-plus tonnes across an area of about 200 square kilometres. Under the SCA, China Railway will manage mining operations, logistics, and a port project, while Ashapura will focus on production ramp-up and sustainability.
Both companies reaffirmed their commitment to sustainability and community development, with a broader commitment to responsible mining in Guinea.
