Gas pressures put squeeze on alumina

The current state of Australia's natural gas markets is squeezing out investment opportunities for the Australian alumina refining industry - an industry that includes some of the country's largest users of natural gas.
Responding to the release of the National Institute of Economic and Industry Research report into the eastern gas market, AAC Executive Director Miles Prosser said "We are seeing uncertainty around the future domestic supply situation in Australia's key natural gas markets of eastern and western Australia."
"The reshaping of domestic markets brought about by the boom in LNG exports is impacting on the alumina industry's ability to secure long.
