During a press conference on Tuesday, the three chiefs, Nana Kusi Amankwaa Maafo II, Nkawie Panin hene and Nana Tabiri Gyansa III, Mpasaaso Manhene, and Nyinahini hene, Nana Ampene Twum Boaten expressed their displeasure at District Chief Executive of Atwima Mponua, Williams Darko.  They believed that Mr Darko is believed to have provoked the youth of the area against Exton Cubic Group Limited.

Exton Cubic was granted a license in December 2016 to explore bauxite in Nyinahini. But, when the company started laying their equipment in the exploration site, they were prohibited by the Ashanti Region Minister Simon Osei on the pretext that he had not been notified about the exploration activities.

The Environmental Protection Agency, the Minerals Commission and other institutions issued statements claiming the company did not have necessary permits and had flouted environmental regulations.

The three chiefs at Nyinahini vehemently defended their support for the Exton Cubic Ltd.  One of the chiefs said that they have been working with the company for years and the company had been given 58% of the entire bauxite reserve in Nyinahini to explore. He also said the remaining 42% of reserve can be allotted to another company.

They expressed their displeasure at DCE for taking decisions and actions without consulting them.
