
According to the latest report from Aluminum Association, estimated net shipments of aluminium sheet and plate by U.S. and Canadian producers stood at 750.1 million pounds during October 2019, down 5.0% year-on-year. Net shipments increased by 3.1% from September 2019. Year-to-date net shipments through October 2019 totalled 7,378.1 million pounds, off 1.3 percent over the same period of 2018.

Shipments of can stock by domestic producers declined by 11.2% YoY to 310.7 million pounds during October 2019. On a month on month comparison, shipments increased by 2.1% per cent over the September 2019 total of 304.2 million pounds.
Year-to-date shipments through October 2019 stood at 3,113.8 million pounds, down 7.7% YoY. Producer shipments of can stock to U.S. markets decreased 7.6% YoY to 288.9 million pounds, while exports dropped 41.5% to 21.8 million pounds.
Shipments of aluminium powder and paste to domestic markets by domestic producers, including imports by domestic producers, declined 17.8% YoY to 5.72 million pounds during October 2019. On a month on month comparison, shipments were off eight-tenths of one percent from the September 2019 total of 5.77 million pounds.

Year-to-date shipments through October 2019 reduced 13.1% YoY to 60.58 million pounds. Shipments of powder to domestic markets decreased 14.6% YoY to 5.11 million pounds, while shipments of paste dropped 37.1% to 0.61 million pounds.
