Erbslöh acquires US extrusion press company
Over its almost 70 years in operation Bowers Manufacturing Company, which was established in 1946 by the grandfather of the owner until now, Jon Bowers, has become a reputable supplier of extruded and finished aluminium products. In more than 50 years of successful work, Jon Bowers established and expanded Bowers Manufacturing Company as an important supplier of aluminium products with finished surfaces. The company employs more than 300 workers and has sales of roughly 40 million US dollars annually.
In a production area of 30,000 square metres at its plant in Michigan profiles for industrial applications are produced with three hydraulic extrusion presses. In addition to the handles and strips which Bowers Manufacturing manufactures for the furniture industry, they also produce components for many non-automotive applications, such as for the electronics industry, or the sanitary sector or air conditioning technology. In the production areas downstream from the extrusion press the semi-finished products are subjected to machining and bending processes. In an anodizing plant surfaces are also finished in a wide range of looks and feels.
Over the next few months a team of experts at Bowers Manufacturing and their German colleagues will establish the processes required to extrude ALMINOX semi-finished products. So shortly ALMINOX profiles from American production will be available locally for customers.
