Athens-based aluminium manufacturer ElvalHalcor’s newly issued shares have officially started trading on Euronext Athens on July 22. The shares were launched after the successful completion of the company’s recent share capital increase, which attracted strong interest from both institutional and retail investors.
{alcircleadd}To mark the occasion, ElvalHalcor Chairman Konstantinos Katsaros formally opened the trading session alongside company executives, partners and representatives of Euronext Athens.
Yianos Kontopoulos, Euronext Athens CEO, commented, “The oversubscription of ElvalHalcor’s public offering and private placement demonstrates the strong response from both institutional and private investors and confirms the market’s confidence in the group’s growth strategy.”
Kontopoulos noted that the capital raised will support the company’s EUR 855 million (USD 977.48 million) investment programme for 2026-2030, one of the largest expansion plans announced by ElvalHalcor. The investments are aimed at increasing production capacity, upgrading facilities with advanced technologies and strengthening the company’s international competitiveness.

Aims to be among Europe’s leading aluminium rolling producers
Katsaros mentioned that the fresh capital would fund machinery and infrastructure investments under the company’s five-year plan, positioning ElvalHalcor among Europe’s leading aluminium rolling producers.
“We will undertake a comprehensive range of investments in accordance with our five-year strategic plan,” he stated.
According to Katsaros, the expansion is expected to make ElvalHalcor the “second largest aluminium rolling plant in Europe and among the largest in the western world.”
He also expressed confidence that the projects would be completed on schedule and within budget, adding that the company’s previous investment experience and technological expertise should allow the new assets to contribute to profitability faster than comparable international projects.

He added that capital market transactions and public offerings in Greece have already mobilised around EUR 7.2 billion (USD 8.23 billion) in 2026, describing the year as “a milestone for the Greek capital market” that highlights growing investor confidence and the market’s expanding role in supporting the country’s economic development.
