Recycling aluminium cans results in 95 per cent energy savings over producing the same quantity of metal from scratch. Recycling is a crucial component of the modern aluminium industry. With this, the Eldorado Civic Association is asking the local residents to drop aluminium cans at their collection site in Altoona. The collected cans will be used by the local group to fund their initiatives. The collection site is at the former Kiwanis building on California Avenue.

According to Ed Shrift, one of the volunteers of the can collection drive, the aluminium cans can be dropped off at any particular time. They will be utilised to support the local project of the Eldorado Civic Association. With the assistance of the neighbourhood and donations from its members, the charity can also provide year-round service to local children and families.
“We are out here raising funds by turning in aluminum cans for money and that, of course, helps us support the miracle league and the teener league our ball fields and the kids and other projects,” added Shrift.
Also, recycling aluminium cans ensures sustainability and a greener environment. Recycled aluminium production uses only around 5 per cent of the energy required to produce new aluminium, resulting in lower carbon emissions and cost savings for both corporations and end users.
