DUBAL to participate at ARABAL 2013

Hosted by Emirates Aluminium ("EMAL") - in which DUBAL holds a 50:50 share with Mubadala Development Company ("Mubadala") - ARABAL 2013 will be held at St Regis Hotel, Abu Dhabi from 5 to 7 November this year. The event marks the 30th anniversary of the inaugural ARABAL Conference and Exhibition in 1983; and is the fifth of its kind to be staged in the UAE. DUBAL has previously hosted four ARABAL events, namely 1987, 1995, 2001 and 2008. The latter coincided with ARABAL's 25th anniversary, giving DUBAL the rare privilege of hosting the silver jubilee year of this internationally acclaimed event.
In keeping with this tradition, DUBAL will again have a strong presence at ARABAL 2013 through the corporation's involvement on multiple levels:
• Dr Ali Al Zarouni (Vice President: Smelter Operations) will host a pre-conference workshop on DUBAL 's in-house developed DX+ Technology which operates at high amperage levels (440 kA and higher) and offers best-in-class performance in terms of improved productivity and reduced impact on the environment through improved energy efficiency and minimized emission levels.
• Walid Al Attar (Executive Vice President: Marketing & Sales, DUBAL and EMAL) will deliver a presentation on the UAE smelters' flexibility to meet market demands during a session focusing on casthouse product mix and downstream initiatives in the Middle East North Africa ("MENA") region.
• DUBAL will have a joint display stand with EMAL in the Gulf Co-operation Council ("GCC") pavilion in the exhibition held alongside the ARABAL 2013 conference where the spotlight will be trained on DUBAL 's proprietary reduction cell technologies and the two companies' combined portfolio of high quality, premium purity products.
• DUBAL is the official sponsor of the ARABAL 2013 Conference Registration desk.
• Malcolm McHale (Advisor to DUBAL ) will moderate the conference session on Environmental Drivers.
With hot metal, cast product and sales volumes exceeding one million tonnes per year, DUBAL is the largest primary aluminium smelter in the GCC region.
