India-based PG Foils Limited plans to establish a downstream aluminium manufacturing facility in Bahrain, focusing on electric vehicle (EV) battery foil and pharmaceutical foil production. The proposed investment is expected to expand the kingdom’s aluminium downstream capabilities and strengthen its manufacturing base. The total imports from Jan’19 – Sept’19 accounted to 97,400 tones, whereas in the previous year at the same period it accounted to 98,100 tonnes. There was a gradual rise of 1800 tonnes from June’19 to July’19 (June’19 – 11,000 tonnes and July’19 – 12,800 tonnes). From 8,520 tonnes in August, the export volume reportedly came down to 6,970 tonnes in the succeeding month.
