
The United States Geological Survey data showed the United States total exports of aluminium, including scrap, to Taiwan came in at 54,100 tonnes during January-September 2019, up 11.31 per cent from 48,600 tonnes in the same period last year.
In September, the US aluminium exports to Taiwan stood at 5,300 tonnes, which in the year last was 4,470 tonnes. This shows the exports in September also witnessed a year-on-year rise by about 18.56 per cent.

However, on a monthly basis, the export amount in September stood down marginally by 3 per cent compared with 5,460 tonnes in August 2019.
Of the total aluminium exports from the US to Taiwan, aluminium scrap accounted for the highest amount in September. The USGS data showed the country exported 4,420 tonnes of aluminium scrap to Taiwan in September, up year-on-year by 8 per cent from 4,100 tonnes, but month-on-month down by 10.70 per cent from 4,950 tonnes.
