Ford has produced more than 5,000 large aluminium unicastings at its Shelbyville Technical Center as it advances manufacturing preparations for the Fathom midsize electric truck, scheduled to launch in 2027. The castings are being used for process testing and prototype assembly at the company's Louisville Assembly Plant. The United Arab Emirates exports of crude metals and alloys to the US stood at 20,500 tonnes in January 2021, a decrease of 33.87% or 10,500 tonnes year-on-year. The UAE had exported 31,000 tonnes to the US in January 2021, according to the latest Mineral Industry Survey report from the US Geological Survey. On a monthly basis, crude metal and alloys imports increased by 25.72% from December’s imports of 27,600 tonnes. Compared with November, the UAE’s exports of crude metal and alloys to the US stood 39.53% lower from 33,900 tonnes. The Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India has mandated import registration compulsory for 43 aluminium and 46 copper items under non-ferrous metal import monitoring system. This is a move to boost domestic production and obstruct imports of such goods.
