France, within its nuclear energy plants, at present, is deemed to be undertaking life extension programmes. At present, the majority of the sectors are providing extra attention to nuclear electricity generation as it is a safer option for conducting low-carbon energy production. This collaboration will serve to support both companies' joint marketing initiatives, which shall extend beyond the boundaries of France.
The collaboration between the two companies focuses on having a protected infrastructure and nuclear facilities in France, protecting against different emerging environmental threats. Cymat Technologies specialises in manufacturing and selling SAF, which is highly used in different applications like automotive, military and architectural designs.
On the other hand, NUVIA is a subsidiary of Vinci Group. The nuclear division of Soletanche Freyssinet, with 60+ years of experience in operating sensitive industrial sites throughout the project life cycle. Its Nufoam system is a honeycomb aluminium foam engineered to absorb impact and shield structures and equipment from debris and other threats. Commonly used in nuclear facilities and infrastructure, it offers a more sustainable alternative by reducing material use and CO2 emissions compared to conventional steel or concrete solutions.
SmartMetal SAF has been the focus of the collaboration because products made from the same material help absorb large amounts of energy in an efficient, recyclable and lightweight package. Moreover, the inclusion of this shall benefit the France-based company in delivering effective blast devitalisation from an assortment of present and future threats as well as neutralising multi-threat events.
Cymat CEO and Chairman Michael Liik stated, "We are pleased to formalise our relationship with NUVIA and look forward to a fruitful long-term relationship with them." He went on to say, "After so many years of development work, nuclear now forms a solid pillar of strong and predictable revenue growth for Cymat."
