The purpose of the rollout is the introduction of the brand’s refillable aluminium bottles as an alternative to single use plastic packaging in their home care segment. The durable circular aluminum containers are designed for repeated use and are provided with refill solutions, supporting a trend where brands seek alternatives to plastic bottles. Clean Cult claims its aluminium bottles with paper-based refill cartons can reduce single-use plastic consumption by up to 90 per cent while also maintaining convenience for customers.

According to CEO and co-founder Ryan Lupberger, consumer expectations are shifting beyond cleaning power. They want thoughtful ingredients, fragrance and environmentally friendly packaging to reduce plastic usage, further strengthening the role of aluminium in product design.
With distribution across more than 70,000 US retail outlets, including Costco, Target, Kroger and Whole Foods as well as online platforms, Clean Cult’s adoption of refillable aluminium packaging indicates increasing opportunities for metal packaging in the home care sector beyond traditional applications in beverages and aerosols as sustainability continues to reshape packaging choices.
