China’s alumina spot price falls yet again to stand below RMB3000/t; Aluminium fluoride price touches new milestone at RMB13000/t

According to the Shanghai Metals Market, China's average alumina spot price has opened the third straight week, dates December 13, with a decline to stand below RMB 3,000 per tonne. SMM data shows the price has decreased by RMB 43 per tonne to come in at RMB 2,977 per tonne.

However, in Guizhou, the average alumina spot price is hovering above RMB 3,000 per tonne as of December 13, even after seeing a sharp fall of RMB 125 per tonne. SMM shows the price in Guizhou has settled at RMB 3,025 per tonne, while the price in Guangxi has closed at RMB 2,875 per tonne by losing RMB 90 per tonne. In Henan and Shanxi, alumina price has dropped by RMB 25 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,985 per tonne and RMB 2,975 per tonne, respectively.

Among the other input costs, the bauxite ((4.5≤Al/Si＜5.5) price in Shanxi and Henan has descended by RMB 27.50 per tonne and RMB 25 per tonne to stand at RMB 460 per tonne and RMB 470 per tonne as of December 13. While the average prices of the former are likely to range between RMB 440-480 per tonne, the average prices of the latter are estimated to hover around RMB 450-490 per tonne, found SMM.

Aluminium fluoride price, on the other hand, has jumped by RMB 250 per tonne to touch a new milestone of RMB 13,000 per tonne on December 13. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 12,000-14,000 per tonne, learned SMM.

China’s A00 aluminium ingot price has also recorded a decrease today of RMB 90 per tonne to stand at RMB 18,690 per tonne, following an increase on the previous day. According to SMM, the average prices are estimated to range between RMB 18,670 per tonne and RMB 18,710 per tonne, with spot contract still to be traded at a premium price of RMB 70-30 per tonne.

In Chongqing and Shenyang, the primary aluminium ingot price has fallen by RMB 90 per tonne as well to settle at RMB 18,750 per tonne and RMB 18,650 per tonne. In Foshan and Wuxi, A00 aluminium ingot price has moved down by RMB 80 per tonne to RMB 18,760 per tonne and RMB 18,700 per tonne, found SMM.
