China’s alumina price digs deeper to RMB2972/t with RMB14/t loss; A00 aluminium ingot price continues to shed RMB20/t

On Thursday, June 9, average alumina spot price in China has stopped at RMB 2,972 per tonne, declining by RMB 14 per tonne, as the SMM data shows. The alumina prices in Henan and Guangxi have dropped by RMB 10 per tonne to halt at RMB 3,050 per tonne and RMB 2,985 per tonne, respectively. Alumina's price in Guizhou has marked the highest downfall of RMB 30 per tonne resulting in RMB 2,955 per tonne. Lastly, the alumina price in Shanxi has plunged RMB 15 per tonne to close at RMB 2,890 per tonne.
The Australian alumina FOB price has witnessed a hike of US$ 7 per tonne, coming in at US$ 360 per tonne.
A00 aluminium ingot price has uniformly surrendered RMB 20 per tonne for three consecutive days this week to stand at RMB 20,780 per tonne, as estimated by the Shanghai Metals Market on Thursday, June 9. The average prices are estimated to range between RMB 20,760 per tonne and RMB 20,800 per tonne, with spot contracts trading at discount prices of RMB 90 per tonne and RMB 50 per tonne.
The primary aluminium ingot price has witnessed the highest slump in Tianjin by RMB 50 per tonne to stop at RMB 20,700 per tonne today, followed by an RMB 40 per tonne cut in Gongyi to RMB 20,680 per tonne. The other provinces like Foshan and Wuxi have suffered RMB 20 per tonne loss to rest at RMB 20,660 per tonne and RMB 20,770 per tonne, respectively.
In Hangzhou, the primary aluminium ingot price has dipped by RMB 20 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,800 per tonne. Also, Linyi has witnessed a price drop of RMB 20 per tonne, resulting in RMB 20,830 per tonne. A00 aluminium ingot price in Chongqing has also decreased by RMB 40 per tonne to stand at RMB 20,720 per tonne. The aluminium ingot price in Shenyang has noted no change remaining at RMB 20,730 per tonne on Thursday, June 9.
In China, the domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has shrunk by RMB 20 per tonne to stand at RMB 21,274 per tonne on June 9.
On June 8, the cost of caustic soda (50% concentration) in Shandong rose by RMB 25 per tonne to rest at RMB 1,930 per tonne.
Today, although there are declines in primary aluminium ingot prices, aluminium alloy (A356), aluminium alloy (ADC12), and aluminium alloy (A380) have recorded no alteration in their individual value.
Among other primary aluminium input costs, bauxite price has shown no expansion staying restrained at RMB 580 per tonne and aluminium powder price at RMB 22.7 per kg.
