China’s A00 aluminium ingot price reduces to RMB20500/t with RMB30/t cut; Imported bauxite prices soar high

A00 aluminium ingot price has declined by RMB 30 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,500 per tonne on Thursday, May 26, dropping for the third day, as noted by the Shanghai Metals Market (SMM). The average prices are estimated to range between RMB 20,480 per tonne and RMB 20,520 per tonne, with spot contracts trading at a discount price of RMB 30 per tonne and a premium price of RMB 10 per tonne.

Only in Tianjin the primary aluminium ingot price has witnessed a rise of RMB 40 per tonne to RMB 20,520 per tonne, today. The other provinces in China, Hang Zhou, Chong Qing and Shenyang, have suffered an RMB 30 per tonne cut. The price of aluminium ingots in Hang Zhou has stopped at RMB 20,550 per tonne, followed by RMB 20,500 per tonne at Chong Qing and RMB 20,450 per tonne at Shenyang. In Gyongi and Foshan, the aluminium ingot prices have plunged by RMB 20 per tonne to settle at RMB 20,520 per tonne and RMB 20,500 per tonne, respectively. Wuxi has also witnessed a price decrease of RMB 20 per tonne, resulting in RMB 20,500 per tonne. Lastly, the premium aluminium ingot price in Linyi has not recorded any change on Thursday, May 26.

In China, the domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has dropped by RMB 21 per tonne to stand at RMB 21,114 per tonne on Thursday.

Among input costs, the price of imported bauxite from Guinea CIF has increased by US$ 4.50 per tonne to rest at US$ 63.50 per tonne, with average prices ranging between US$ 63 per tonne to US$ 64 per tonne all day. Also the imported bauxite price from Indonesia CIF has heightened by US$ 3.50 per tonne, settling down at US$ 65 per tonne. Its average price has ranged between US$ 64 per tonne and US$ 66 per tonne. 

The price of aluminium alloy (ADC12) has fallen by RMB 100 per tonne to stand at RMB 20,900 per tonne, as per the SMM data. The average prices are likely to range between RMB 20,800 per tonne and RMB 21,000 per tonne.

Similarly, the aluminium alloy (A380) price has seen a downfall of RMB 100 per tonne to rest at RMB 21,900 per tonne, with average prices ranging from RMB 21,800 per tonne and RMB 22,000 per tonne. Only the aluminium alloy (A356) price refrained from altering its course.
