China’s A00 aluminium ingot price receives RMB50/t boost; Bauxite price in Shanxi drops RMB10/t

A00 aluminium ingot price has seen an RMB 50 per tonne rise to close at RMB 18,870 per tonne, as recorded by the Shanghai Metals Market on Thursday, August 25. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 18,850 per tonne and RMB 18,890 per tonne, with spot contracts trading at a discount price of RMB 40 per tonne.

The provinces in China have witnessed an uneven aluminium price alteration today, with A00 aluminium ingot price rising the highest in Hangzhou by RMB 240 per tonne to RMB 18,850 per tonne, followed by RMB 230 per tonne hike in Wuxi to RMB 18,800 per tonne. The primary aluminium price in Linyi has escalated by RMB 50 per tonne to stop at RMB 18,870 per tonne. The primary aluminium prices in Gongyi and Chongqing have seen an RMB 40 per tonne spike to close at RMB 18,720 per tonne and RMB 18,780 per tonne, respectively. The primary aluminium price in Foshan has gained RMB 30 per tonne to rest at RMB 18,680 per tonne, while the aluminium price in Shenyang remained stoic at RMB 18,800 per tonne with no change. Only Tianjin reported a decrease of RMB 20 per tonne to stand at RMB 18,820 per tonne.

In China, the domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has expanded by RMB 26 per tonne to halt at RMB 19,288 per tonne on Thursday, August 25.

According to the data shown by SMM, high purity aluminium (99.99%) price and high purity aluminium (99.996%) price have been boosted by RMB 100 per tonne each to rest at RMB 27,000 per tonne and RMB 28,000 per tonne, respectively.

The price of bauxite in Shanxi has inched down by RMB 10 per tonne to come in at RMB 440 per tonne.

Among other input costs, the average alumina price in China has dropped by RMB 1 per tonne, closing at RMB 2,952 per tonne. The price of alumina in Guangxi shed RMB 10 per tonne coming in at RMB 2,940 per tonne, with average prices hovering between RMB 2,900 per tonne and RMB 2,980 per tonne.

The aluminium alloy (A356) price has lost RMB 50 per tonne arriving at RMB 20,250 per tonne. The average prices are likely to range between RMB 20,100 per tonne and RMB 20,400 per tonne, says SMM.

The prices of aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have refrained from any change.

The aluminium powder price in China has gained RMB 0.10 per kg to settle at RMB 20.80 per kg, with average prices ranging between RMB 20.70 per kg and 20.90 per kg.
