China’s A00 aluminium ingot price glides up RMB210/t mid-May; Alumina spot prices mark uniform fall of RMB5/t

The current aluminium price in China has halted at RMB 18,240 per tonne, with a levitation of RMB 210 per tonne, as the Shanghai Metals Market reported on May 16, Tuesday. The average aluminium price trends are between RMB 18,220 per tonne and RMB 18,260 per tonne. The premium prices have ranged around RMB 60 per tonne or RMB 20 per tonne.

Low-carbon aluminium prices have augmented by RMB 210 per tonne, officially closing at RMB 18,912 per tonne.

The eight central provinces in China all have seen escalating prices today, with the highest aluminium price hike in Wuxi by RMB 220 per tonne, resting at RMB 18,250 per tonne. In Gongyi, Foshan, Hangzhou and Shenyang, the aluminium price soared by RMB 210 per tonne. The aluminium price in Gongyi came in at RMB 18,150 per tonne. In Foshan, it halted at RMB 18,330 per tonne; in Hangzhou it was RMB 18,280 per tonne, and Shenyang recorded RMB 18,290 per tonne. The aluminium spot price in Linyi gained RMB 170 per tonne, closing at RMB 18,280 per tonne, while in Tianjin, it got an RMB 155 per tonne boost, stopping at RMB 18,240 per tonne. Lastly, in Chongqing, the aluminium price rocketed RMB 150 per tonne, settling at RMB 18,290 per tonne. 

The high-purity aluminium (99.99%) price and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) price have both shot up RMB 200 per tonne to stop at RMB 25,900 per tonne and RMB 26,900 per tonne, respectively.

The average alumina spot price has decreased by RMB 5 per tonne, officially closing at RMB 2,880 per tonne. Similarly, the alumina prices in other major provinces have shed RMB 5 per tonne each. In Shandong, it has rolled down to RMB 2,900 per tonne; in Henan, the alumina spot price is RMB 2,945 per tonne; in Shanxi, it is RMB 2,875 per tonne, and in Guangxi, it is RMB 2,790 per tonne.

The price of aluminium alloy (A356) has heightened by RMB 200 per tonne, closing at RMB 19,050 per tonne, while the price of aluminium alloy (A360) has seen a similar rise resting at RMB 19,200 per tonne. The price of aluminium alloy (ADC12) has gone up RMB 50 per tonne, resting at RMB 18,600 per tonne.

The aluminium powder price in China has increased by RMB 0.20 per kg, closing at RMB 20.10 per kg, with average prices circulating between RMB 20 per tonne and RMB 20.20 per tonne.
