Chinalco decides to cut Alumina capacity

Owing to oversupply of alumina, Chinalco has decided to reduce alumina capacity of 1700 thousand tons, together with the key alumina enterprises of NanShan Group, Shandong Chiping Xinfa Group, Binzhou High and New Aluminum Power Co., Ltd and Bosai Group to appeal alumina enterprises conducted 10% reduction from June in order to balance market.
According to the measure and calculate, the average full cost of Chinese electrolytic aluminium enterprises was about 16500 yuan/ton, electric power cost occupied 40% of the whole production cost.
