China Imports and Exports of Copper and Aluminum in October 2011

According to the preliminary data from the General Administration of Customs, China's imports of unwrought copper and copper semis were 383,507 mt during October, with YTD imports from January to October at3,112,261 mt, down 13.5% YoY. China's imports of scrap copper were 380 kt during October, with YTD imports from January to October at 3.81 million mt, up 7.8% YoY.
China's imports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum semis were 60,186 mt in October, with YTD imports from January to October at 728,052 mt, down 8.6% YoY. Alumina imports were 260 kt during October, with YTD imports from January to October at 1450 kt, down 60% YoY. China's imports of scrap aluminum were 220 kt during October, with YTD imports from January to October at 2130 kt, down 9.2% YoY. China's exports of unwrought aluminum were 64,650 mt in October, with YTD exports from January to October at 618,267 mt, up 2.7% YoY.
