

China Aluminium Cans Holdings Ltd has announced that its chairman, Lin Wan Tsang, has been appointed to lead an important international standards body within the metal packaging sector. Lin has been named chair of the Light Gauge Metal Containers Technical Committee of the International Organisation for Standardisation, also known as ISO/TC 52.

The appointment is a step forward in the growing international profile of Lin within the global metal packaging industry. Previously, in 2022, he had been the chairperson of the International Organisation of Aluminium Aerosol Container Manufacturers. His elevation to the ISO committee is expected to further enhance the group’s influence in shaping global technical and quality standards for light-gauge metal containers.
In its statement, the company said Lin’s new position would allow China Aluminium Cans to play a more active role in international standard-setting discussions. It added that the appointment is likely to support closer alignment between China’s metal packaging standards and widely adopted global frameworks, while also strengthening the group’s long-term development prospects and industry credibility.
From a market perspective, analyst sentiment on the company remains cautious. The most recent coverage of China Aluminium Cans Holdings’ shares carries a “Hold” recommendation, with a price target of HKD1.00 ( USD 0.13).
