China alumina output to fall back in August from this year’s high
Alumina production in China hit this year’s high in July, but will fall back in August, SMM expects.
The country’s alumina output totalled 5.05 million tonnes in July, up 3.8 per cent from June and 4.49 per cent from a year ago, SMM statistics showed. Release of new and restarted capacity contributed to the growth, SMM explained.
SMM expects national output to drop to 5.01 million tonnes in August, due to production cuts at some producers for various reasons.
