BTS completes plate manufacturing for electrolytic aluminum groove in Iceland
The Century Aluminum is based in Montreal of California, with an annual output capability of 1.1 million tons. It has set up aluminum smelting plants respectively in USA and Iceland, and possesses aluminum oxide and bauxite assets in USA and Jamaica. The electrolyzer consists of cell body, anode and cathode. In terms of the different electrolytes, it can be classified into three types: aqueous solution electrolytic cell, molten salt electrolytic cell and non-aqueous electrolytic cell. When direct current passes through the electrolyzer, oxidizing reaction will take place at the interface between the anode and the solution, while reduction reaction will happen at the interface between the cathode and the solution, and thus the corresponding product can be produced.
Under the aforesaid plate project for NOrdural electrolytic aluminum groove, 52 sets of plates shall be made within a total construction period of nearly two months. During the process, the supervisors fielded by the employer to the jobsite for inspection, and all of them gave full recognition to the product quality.
