According to the notifications by Glebe Farm Industrial Estate, the investment will generate almost 20 new job opportunities related to the engineering and manufacturing sector. The addition might also help in positioning present Britvic apprentices as full-time company employees in the firm.

The announcement can be regarded as just a portion of the total £40 million investment administered slowly through the past two years. Once complete, this might help the company get registered as one of the five biggest soft drink makers in the European territory.

The Britvic Managing Director in Great Britain, Paul Graham, exclaimed: “This investment is another example of our commitment to our people, product and planet goals.

“Developing our state-of-the-art supply chain means that we can increase the production capacity of peoples’ favourite brands, create more jobs and improve efficiency, helping to reduce waste. We look forward to seeing the new canning line in action!” he ended his statement.

These business expansion ideas are adjoined with Britvic’s £250 million business continuity plan investment in its British supply chain, already completed in November 2019. The new investment underlines the company’s commitment to continuously improving its daily functions.

The new aluminium canning line will witness a 14 per cent increased capacity, supplying 80,000 recyclable 330ml aluminium cans per hour. Britvic produces cans for brands like Pepsi MAX and Tango, so adding the fifth canning line will result in a supply hike. The first aluminium cans produced by Britvic’s fifth canning line will be available in the upcoming weeks.

In 2021, Britvic invested £27 million for a canning line in the factory and £19 million to refurbish the company’s local distribution centre.
