Brazil registers higher revenue despite low alumina export in Q4 2016-17

<p>Brazil currently ranks second position as a net exporter of alumina worldwide. The country exported estimated 8.78 million tonnes of alumina in 2016, up from 8.47 million tonnes in 2015. A substantial portion of country&rsquo;s alumina is shipped to Canada. Albras, the second-largest aluminium metal plant in Brazil also intakes Brazilian alumina.</p> <p>{newsStudioGallery}</p> <p>Hydro Alunorte is the world's largest alumina refinery in Brazil with a total capacity of over six million tons of alumina. In Q2, the volume increased to 2205176 tonnes. In the last two quarter the country witnessed a slight fall in alumina export. In Q2, the total value stood at 523.977 USD million.&nbsp; The export value stood at 529.94 USD million and 633.32 USD million in Q3 and Q4.</p> <p>Canada, Norway, UAE and Argentina are the top importers of alumina from Brazil.</p>
