Bering Yachts has unveiled the first hull of the Bering BC60, marking the company’s entry into the aluminium explorer catamaran segment. Designed as a long-range expedition vessel, the BC60 expands Bering’s explorer yacht portfolio by combining ocean-going capability with the efficiency and stability of a twin-hull platform.
{alcircleadd}Built using only aluminium, the BC60 has been designed specifically for its longevity, ease of operation, and ability to venture out to far-off destinations. Its shallow draft, measuring 1.3 meters, allows it to sail into shallow bays and coral waters, which many other yachts cannot enter owing to their deep drafts.
The explorer catamaran has a fuel capacity exceeding 13,500 litres and offers a cruising range of more than 3,000 nautical miles. According to the company, the vessel is intended for long-duration independent cruising, supported by substantial onboard storage for provisions and supplies. The combination of range and storage capacity is expected to appeal to owners seeking extended voyages without reliance on marina infrastructure or regular shore support.

Bering Yachts said the BC60 has been engineered to provide stability and onboard comfort during long journeys. Its displacement hull configuration is designed to reduce motion in rough sea conditions, while additional attention has been given to limiting onboard noise and vibration levels. The company noted that these features are aimed at improving liveaboard comfort for owners and guests during both cruising and anchorage operations.
The BC60 also offers multiple layout options, with accommodation configurations ranging from four to six cabins. Interior arrangements can be customised to suit owner preferences, with additional storage integrated throughout the vessel. The catamaran has been designed to operate either as an owner-managed yacht or with a minimal crew of two people.

A key feature of the vessel is its enclosed flybridge, which functions as a secondary lounge area with a bar and panoramic views. The space can also be adapted into a gymnasium, office, or library, depending on operational and lifestyle requirements.
Speaking about the launch, Scott Blee of Sabdes Boat Designs said, “I’m so excited to finally see her in the water, and I can’t wait for the first sea trial. It’ll be great to see how all those design decisions we made actually come together. We never compromise anywhere. I truly believe she’ll feel like a really complete boat straight out of the box. And quite a unique offering to the market.”
According to the company, the BC60 has generated strong market interest across Europe and the United States since its introduction. Sea trials are scheduled to commence in the coming days, with performance data and operational assessments expected to follow.
