
Bahrain’s total value of national origin products export was estimated at BD130 million (US$342 million) in October 2016, according to the kingdom's Information & eGovernment Authority latest report. About 88 per cent of the total shipments made it to the top 10 ranked global destinations while only 12 per cent reached other countries. The Gulf country’s non-oil trade deficit (difference between the value of imports and exports) was estimated at BD204 million for the month.

Aluminium wire ranked as the second most exported product from Bahrain valued at BD16 million, while rectangular alloyed aluminium plates estimated at BD14 million ranked third for the month under review. 
In 2015, Bahrain exported a total volume of 152853.81 tonnes aluminium wire to international markets. In 2016, the figure is estimated to reach 160247.09 tonnes, an increase of 4.83 per cent from the previous fiscal. The total value of aluminium wire exports from Bahrain in 2015 was recorded at US$0.37 billion. The value is estimated to reach US$0.35 billion in 2016, down 3.41 per cent from the previous fiscal. 
Aluminium stranded wire is another highly exported non-oil product of Bahrain. In 2015, the country shipped 75325.21 tonnes of aluminium stranded wire worth US$0.2 billion, which is likely to reach 92610.01 tonnes in 2016, up 22.9 per cent from the previous fiscal. Value-wise too, the growth is estimated to be significant at 26.3 per cent year-on-year.

The top destinations for Bahrain’s aluminium wire and stranded aluminium wire exports for 2015 were Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Algeria, the U.S., UAE, and Turkey.
