ASI certifies Ball Beverage Packaging South America against both Performance and Chain of Custody Standard Certifications
The Aluminium Stewardship Initiative has announced that it has successfully certified Ball Beverage Packaging South America (BPSA) against both the Performance Standard and Chain of Custody Standard Certifications for the manufacturing of aluminium can bodies and can ends at 15 facilities across the country. Ball is the first can manufacturer in South America to achieve dual ASI Certifications. Earlier in 2020, the company achieved dual certification for its 23 facilities in the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. In total, Ball has 38 dual certified facilities across the world. China’s aluminium production in October grows 1.8% Y-o-Y to 3.13 million tonnes; Daily output falls lowest since July 2020
According to the data revealed by the National Statistics Bureau, China’s aluminium production in October stood at 3.13 million tonnes, 1.8 per cent higher year-on-year than 3.075 million tonnes. On a month-on-month calculation, the output stood up as well, ending a run of five straight monthly declines, found the official data. However, the daily average output in October fell to its lowest since July 2020, as smelters faced continued restrictions due to power shortages. This news has come after Wood Mackenzie consultancy revealed the outcome of its comprehensive studies on the impact of China’s energy crunch on the domestic metals sector. The objective is to improve the circularity of aluminum beverage can, while demonstrating its sustainability to beverage companies and consumers.
