Hydro reports 39% hike in revenue during 2Q2022 on stronger margins in aluminium extrusions business
Hydro has announced strong financial performance for the second quarter of 2022 with a 39 per cent quarter-on-quarter hike in revenue from NOK 46,616 million to NOK 64,793 million. On a year-on-year basis, the revenue has reported a significant rise of 87 per cent from NOK 34,559 million. The company’s total revenue during the first half of 2022 has amounted to NOK 111,409 million, compared to NOK 66,510 million a year ago. Alcoa reports strong Q2 performance with 11% hike in revenue supported by improved alumina shipments
On Wednesday, July 20, Alcoa Corporation reported an 11 per cent quarter-on-quarter increase in revenue to $3.644 million in its second quarter financial and operational results ended June 30, 2022. In Q1 2022, Alcoa’s revenue was $3.293 million, while in Q1 2021 was $2.833 million. Thus, on a year-on-year calculation, Alcoa’s revenue in 2Q22 was 28.63 per cent higher. The United States’ aluminium plates, sheets and bars imports from Thailand displayed a slight rise of 400 tonnes in March 2022 to stand at 10,500 tonnes, found the US Census Bureau data. China’s aluminium imports in June'22 tumble 36% Y-o-Y due to weaker demand from end-use sectors
China customs data showed a year-on-year downfall of 36.3 per cent in the country’s unwrought aluminium and aluminium products imports in June 2022, attributing to improved domestic output and weaker demand that continued to weigh on import appetite. But on a month-on-month calculation, the imports recorded a dip of only 0.06 per cent.
