
The United States’ aluminium plates, sheets and bars imports from Thailand displayed a slight rise of 400 tonnes in March 2022 to stand at 10,500 tonnes, found the US Census Bureau data. In February, the imports stood at 10,100 tonnes, registering a hike of 2,500 tonnes from 7,600 tonnes in January.

On a year-on-year calculation, the United States’ aluminium plates, sheets and bars imports in March 2022 recorded an increase of 1,190 tonnes from 9,310 per tonne, showed USGS data.
In the first quarter of 2021, the United States imported 28,300 tonnes of aluminium plates, sheets and bars in total, which was an increase of 13,900 tonnes from 14,400 tonnes during the same period last year.
According to USGS, the United States’ total imports of aluminium plates, sheets and bars in March 2022 amounted to 129,000 tonnes, up by 8,000 tonnes from 121,000 tonnes in March 2021 and a rise of 22,000 tonnes from 107,000 tonnes in February 2022.
From January to March 2022, the United States imported 348,000 tonnes of aluminium plates, sheets and bars compared to 286,000 tonnes during the same period last year. That was a year-on-year rise of 62,000 tonnes, learned Census Bureau.
