Australian Bauxite secures 5,000 tonnes non-met supply deal
Australian Bauxite Ltd announced that it has completed the first sale of 5,000 tonnes non-metallurgical grade bauxite from its Bald Hill mine operations in Tasmania to an unknown buyer for use in the cement and fertiliser markets.

The sale is significant, not only because it is rare to hear of deals in the cement-grade market, but because the company cited a higher price for non-met supply.

The move on the part of Australian Bauxite indicates at the company's growing focus towards the cement and fertiliser markets. Non-met bauxite applications cover about 10 per cent of Australia’s bauxite output.
