Aneka Tambang to Work on Rp 35T Projects

Mining and metals company Aneka Tambang (Antam) will be completing five new projects worth around Rp35.9 trillion by 2014. The projects, related to the Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI), have encouraged the company to focus on the downstream sector of the mining industry.

Antam CEO Alwin Syah Lubis said that his company is focusing on the downstream sector in line with the Law on Mineral and Coal Mining issued two years ago. The regulation prohibits national and foreign companies to export raw mining products. “The recent projects have become future projects which make Antam even a larger company,” said Alwin in Bogor last week.
