
According to the latest reports from Aluminum Association, shipments of Aluminium Powder and Paste to domestic markets by domestic producers, including imports by domestic producers stood at 7.03 million pounds during August 2018, up 28.3% from August 2017 total of 5.47 million pounds. On a month on month comparison, shipments were off 2.1% from the July 2018 total of 7.17 million pounds. YTD shipments through August 2018 stood at 56.81 million pounds, up 6.2% YoY.

Compared to August 2017, estimated shipments of powder to domestic markets increased 36.7% to 6.17 million pounds, while shipments of paste decreased 11.0% to 0.85 million pounds.
Estimated shipments of Aluminium Drawing Stock, Bare Wire and Rod & Bar by U.S. and Canadian producers stood at 102.6 million pounds during August 2018, up 3.6% YoY. Shipments increased 4.8% from July 2018. YTD Shipments through August 2018 stood at 852.0 million pounds, up 5.5% YoY.

Shipments of Aluminium Extruded Products (extruded shapes, pipe & tube, and rod & bar) by U.S. and Canadian producers totalled 488.5 million pounds during August 2018, up 2.4% percent YoY. Shipments increased 7.5% from July 2018 total of 454.3 million pounds. YTD shipments through August 2018 stood at 3,775.9 million pounds, up 4.8 percent over the 2017 YTD total of 3,604.6 million pounds.

Estimated shipments of Aluminium Forgings and Impacts by U.S. and Canadian producers stood at 28.0 million pounds during August 2018, off 8.8% from the August 2017 total of 30.7 million pounds. Shipments increased 10.8% over the July 2018 revised total of 25.2 million pounds. YTD shipments through August 2018 totalled 231.2 million pounds, up 2.2 percent YoY.
