Aluminium futures trade higher on overseas cues

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in February traded higher by 40 paise, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 114.05 per kg in business turnover of 1722 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in March edged up by 30 paise, or 0.26 per cent to Rs 115.15 per kg in 158 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in aluminium futures to a firming global trend where aluminium traded near a one-month high as demand prospects for the light metal improved amid advancing car sales and rising fuel costs.
Meanwhile, aluminium for delivery in three months increased 0.2 per cent to $2,147 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
