Aluminium billet inventories in China rise for second consecutive week

Shanghai Metals Market data showed that stocks of 6063 aluminium billet across five major consumption areas in China stood at 105,400 tonnes as of Thursday September 5, up some 13,700 tonnes from 91,700 tonnes on Thursday August 29.

Aluminium billet inventories grew for the second consecutive week as of Thursday September 5 on greater arrivals in Guangdong.

Inventories of aluminium billet in Foshan, Guangdong and Wuxi, Jiangsu rose 6,500 tonnes and 3,500 tonnes from Thursday August 29 to stand at 48,900 tonnes and 20,400 tonnes. Stocks in Changzhou, Jiangsu and Huzhou, Zhejiang stood at 13,600 tonnes and 12,000 tonnes on Thursday, 05 September 2019, from 13,300 tonnes and 9,000 tonnes. Aluminium billet stocks in Nanchang, Jiangxi came in at 10,500 tonnes, up 400 tonnes from 10,100 tonnes on Thursday August 29.

The prices of aluminium alloys (A356) and (ADC12) remain unchanged at RMB 15,050 per tonne and RMB14,050 per tonne. The prices of aluminium alloy (ZLD102) and aluminium alloy (ZLD102) stood at RMB 15150 per tonne and RMB 15100 per tonne, up RMB 50 per tonne each.
