Alumina spot price in China floats up by RMB1/t; China’s A00 aluminium ingot price sheds RMB30/t

The average alumina spot price in China has gained RMB 1 per tonne, closing at RMB 2,929 per tonne, while the price of alumina in Henan has escalated by RMB 5 per tonne, halting at RMB 2,965 per tonne.

A00 aluminium ingot price has plunged by RMB 30 per tonne, resting at RMB 17,700 per tonne, as the Shanghai Metals Market recorded on Friday, January 6. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 17,680 per tonne and RMB 17,720 per tonne, with spot contracts trading at discount prices of RMB 80 per tonne and RMB 40 per tonne.

The provinces in China have witnessed either stagnancy or declining prices today, with the aluminium price falling by RMB 20 per tonne in Foshan, Wuxi and Hangzhou to close in the first two places at RMB 17,690 per tonne and the last one at RMB 17,720 per tonne. In Gongyi, the aluminium price has dipped by RMB 10 per tonne, stopping at RMB 17,550 per tonne. The price of aluminium in Chongqing, Shenyang, and Tianjin all refrained from any change staying fixed at RMB 17,785 per tonne, RMB 17,780 per tonne and RMB 17,760 per tonne. Only, in Linyi, the aluminium price has hiked by RMB 10 per tonne to rest at RMB 17,760 per tonne.

In China, the domestic price of low-carbon aluminium dropped by RMB 20 per tonne to stand at RMB 18,262 per tonne on Friday, January 6.

The prices of high-purity aluminium (99.99%) and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) have remained in their previous positions at RMB 25,700 per tonne and RMB 26,700 per tonne, respectively.

The price of aluminium alloy (A356) has declined by RMB 50 per tonne, stopping at RMB 18,850 per tonne.
