
Alumina production in Europe (incl. Russia) amounted to 577,000 tonnes in November 2022, bringing the total output in eleven months of 2022 to 7.668 million tonnes, found the International Aluminium Institute. The production in November edged 2.86 per cent or 17,000 tonnes lower month-on-month than 594,000 tonnes.

On a year-on-year calculation, Europe (incl. Russia)’s alumina production in November 2022 plunged by 31.15 per cent from 838,000 tonnes, found IAI.
Europe (incl. Russia)’s total alumina production from January to November 2022 recorded a steep fall of 15.92 per cent from 9.512 million tonnes during the corresponding period of the previous year.
Europe’s alumina production in October 2022 also stood lower by 3.57 per cent month-on-month than 616,000 tonnes. In Q3, the output amounted to 1.969 million tonnes compared to 2.098 million tonnes in the earlier quarter, reflecting a decline of 6.15 per cent Q-o-Q. Following the bearish trend sequentially, Europe’s alumina production in Q4 is likely to see a continued drop.
World alumina production in November 2022 stood at 11.585 million tonnes, down by 3.13 per cent month-on-month from 11.959 million tonnes but up by 3.10 per cent year-on-year from 11.237 million tonnes.
