Alumina price in China up by RMB10/t after staying flat for two days; Australian alumina FOB registers a hike

The average spot alumina price increased by RMB 10 per tonne or 0.39 per cent on Thursday, 19 September 2019, after remaining flat on September 17 and September 18. Alumina price in China stood at RMB 2579 per tonne, from RMB 2569 per tonne. The prices of alumina rose across East and Central China markets today.

Alumina prices in East and Central markets climbed RMB 20 per tonne each to stand at RMB 2590 per tonne each. Their average prices are expected to range at RMB 2570- 2610 per tonne and RMB 2580-2600 per tonne. In North and South markets, the price is unchanged at RMB 2590 per tonne and RMB 2510 per tonne after it rose from RMB 2560 per tonne and RMB 2505 per tonne on September 16.

Australian alumina FOB price registered an increase of USD 2 per tonne on Thursday, 19 September 2019. The price came in at USD 295 per tonne.

A00 aluminium ingot price again dropped to RMB 14270 per tonne on Thursday. That was down RMB 70 per tonne from yesterday. The average price is expected to range at RMB 14250-14290 per tonne. Spot aluminium price is likely to be traded at a premium of RMB 40-60 per tonne.

Aluminium ingot price in Foshan stood at RMB 14300 per tonne, down RMB 80 per tonne. Ingot prices in Wuxi and Hangzhou declined RMB 70 per tonne and RMB 60 per tonne to stand at RMB 14265 per tonne and RMB 14290 per tonne. Aluminium ingot prices in Chongqing, Shenyang, Tianjin, Linyi, and Gongyi declined to stand at RMB 14300 per tonne, RMB 14295 per tonne, RMB 14270 per tonne, RMB 14300 per tonne and RMB 14165 per tonne.

The price of bauxite, prebaked anode, aluminium alloy (ADC12) showed no movement today. The price of aluminium alloy (A356) registered a drop of RMB50 per tonne to stand at RMB 15000 per tonne today.
