Alumina Limited has become new General Supporter member of ASI, bringing the total number of ASI Members to 165. The company invests in bauxite mining, alumina refining and aluminium smelting through its ownership of a 40% interest in the AWAC (Alcoa World Alumina & Chemicals), managed and owned 60% by Alcoa Corporation.

The ASI seeks to maximise the contribution of aluminium to a sustainable society and collaboratively foster responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium,” said Mike Ferraro, CEO, Alumina Limited.

The Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) is a global, multi-stakeholder, non-profit standards setting and certification organisation that aims to recognise and foster the responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium.
