Just when the Industry 4.0 was creating a buzz in the aluminium industry, inspiring smelters and plants to integrate digitalization in their operations management, the COVID-19, also known as the novel coronavirus, made its emergence on the earth causing a pandemic and slowing down lives and livelihoods. The virus has caused radical shifts in workflows all across the globe as millions are practising social distancing and/or complying with self-quarantine recommendations. But while downsizing many industries, the pandemic’s dramatic appearance is believed to have accelerated numerous trends on the other hand, such as Industry 4.0.
Industry 4.0 is the current transformation of traditional manufacturing and industrial practices with the latest smart technology. This primarily focuses on the use of large-scale machine to machine communication (M2M) to enable data transfer and management more efficiently and effectively. It increases automation and improves communication and self-monitoring, which is believed to help businesses achieve higher productivity at a lesser time to mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, now the question is, will the smelters and plants be interested in adopting a new system or upgrading the existing one into a more efficient platform when their manufacturing and operations have taken a backseat? To find that out, here we are with our upcoming e-Magazine titled “Covid-19 Impact: Importance & Emergence of Industry 4.0”. This magazine will cover interviews and articles of some of the eminent aluminium industry players or leading technology players who would be sharing their valuable views on the possible impacts of COVID19 on Industry 4.0 and what is expected in the future, especially in the aluminium sector.
As AlCircle is always committed to offer you information on every current affair in the aluminium industry, whether through reports, news or e-Magazines, this time it has chosen to present a magazine primarily focussing on whether the implementation of Industry 4.0 in the aluminium sector will grow in the post COVID-19 era and how impactful that would be in enhancing the productivity and efficiency of the smelters and plants.
Last year, AlCircle had published an e-Magazine on “Aluminium Industry 4.0: Drivers & Change Makers”, covering interviews and articles of the leading technology players who initiated digitalization in the aluminium industry by bringing in path-breaking technologies. Glad to say that it took the internet on storm within a month.

We look forward to create yet another buzz with our e-Magazine offering you all the relevant information on COVID-19 impact on Industry 4.0, which you have been waiting for all this while during the pandemic.
Stay tuned to AlCircle and watch this space for more updates on our flagship e-Magazine.
