Alba resumes normal operations at Reduction Line 5

<p>Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) has announced through a press release that they have completed the recovery of Reduction Line 5 pots which had been out of operation following the power outage incident in April 2017. Alba faced a temporary loss of power in all 5 Reduction Lines for approximately 3 hours. The company subsequently restored power operations and repaired Reduction Lines 1-4. Repair work in Line 5 was expected to return to operation by early Q3 2017.</p> <p style="text-align: center;"><img style="vertical-align: middle;" src="http://www.alcircle.com/uploads/images/Alba%20Reduction%20Line%205.jpg" alt="News" width="640" height="241" /></p> <p>Alba organized a celebration on Monday July 17, 2017 at the Alba Oasis Hall to recognize the success of the Line 5 recovery team. &nbsp;&nbsp;The Chairman of Alba&rsquo;s Board of Directors, Shaikh Daij Bin Salman Bin Daij Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer Tim Murray and the Executive Management Team were present there to cheer the team.</p> <p>Commenting on this achievement, Shaikh Daij Bin Salman Bin Daij Al Khalifa said: &ldquo;I would like to thank all those who were involved in restoring Line 5 both safely and quickly. The speed of the recovery is a testament of the dedication of the Alba team.&rdquo;</p> <p>Alba&rsquo;s Chief Executive Officer Tim Murray also expressed his gratitude towards the team: &ldquo;The recovery of Line 5 was one of the most painful experiences in the history of Alba. However, the resilience of the team allowed us to set a new industry benchmark on the speed of recovery. I would like to thank all the workers and contractors for their efforts to manage through this difficult situation safely."&nbsp;</p> <p>{googleAdsense}</p> <p>It is to be noted that Alba closed the first half of 2017 with a production volume of 453,395, which was down 4.5% YoY as a result of the production loss in reduction line 5 for power outage.
