The Indian renewable energy company Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has commissioned an additional 150 MW solar power project through its subsidiary Adani Green Energy Twenty Five C. Being developed at the Khavda renewable energy park, the target is to reach an installed capacity of 30 GW by 2029. This project is expected to solidify Adani’s standing among the largest renewable energy portfolios across the global platform.

Situated in Gujarat, the renewable energy park is being developed across the salt desert region of Khavda in Kutch district, spanning almost 538 square kilometres. The project combines large-scale solar and wind generation with battery energy storage systems (BESS) to enable a continuous renewable power supply.
Earlier, AGEL operationalised 1,376 MWh of battery storage capacity at the site, which marked one of the largest single-location BESS deployments on a global scale. The latest commissioning comes after the addition of a 292 MW solar project and a separate 1 GW solar facility developed by SAEL Industries Ltd.
Construction activities at Khavda continue to face logistical and engineering challenges due to the saline desert conditions, high temperatures, seasonal flooding, and the site’s proximity to the India-Pakistan border. Developers have also emphasised the requirement for robust transmission networks, high-voltage evacuation infrastructure, and climate-resilient systems to support the project’s scale.
