A00 aluminium ingot price remains muted at RMB15690/t; Australian alumina FOB price climbs by US$2/t

According to the Shanghai Metals Market, A00 aluminium ingot price has remained restrained at RMB 15,690 per tonne, with average prices expected to range between RMB 15,670 per tonne and RMB 15,710 per tonne, as of Wednesday, January 6. Spot contract is expected to trade at a premium price of RMB 50-90 per tonne, down by RMB 10 per tonne from the previous day.

Restraint in A00 aluminium ingot price today has touched upon Foshan, Wuxi, Gongyi, and Chongqing. The prices there are continuing at RMB 15,760 per tonne, RMB 15,690 per tonne, RMB 15,610 per tonne, and RMB 15,675 per tonne, respectively.

The primary aluminium ingot price in Tianjin has fallen by RMB 40 per tonne to RMB 15,650 per tonne on January 6, followed by the decline of RMB 20 per tonne in Linyi to RMB 15,720 per tonne and RMB 5 per tonne in Shenyang to RMB 15,675 per tonne. In Hangzhou, however, A00 aluminium ingot price is up by RMB 5 per tonne to stand at RMB 15,695 per tonne.

Among the input costs, Australian alumina FOB price has climbed by US$ 2 per tonne to come in at US$ 306 per tonne on January 6. The prebaked anode price in Central has jumped by RMB 35 per tonne to stand at RMB 3,645 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 3,445 per tonne and RMB 3,845 per tonne.

Aluminium Industry Recap: 2020

Aluminium alloys prices have decreased on January 6, with aluminium alloys (ADC12) price and aluminium alloy (A380) price shed RMB 50 per tonne to RMB 17,050 per tonne and RMB 17,950 per tonne, respectively. However, the price of aluminium alloy (A356) price has remained muted at RMB 16,400 per tonne.
