
According to Shanghai Metals Market, the A00 aluminium ingot price has extended downfall today, on May 21, to RMB 14,240 per tonne. This is the third consecutive decline since May 17. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 14,220 per tonne and RMB 14,260 per tonne.

In Foshan, Tianjin and Linyi, the A00 aluminium ingot price has dipped by RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 14,330 per tonne, RMB 14,270 per tonne and RMB 14,310 per tonne, respectively. In Wuxi and Hangzhou, on the other hand, the price has declined more by RMB 35 per tonne to RMB 14,245 per tonne and RMB 14,265 per tonne, while that in Shenyang and Gongyi by RMB 40 per tonne to RMB 14,255 per tonne and RMB 14,160 per tonne.
The average price of spot alumina has shown restraint today at RMB 3087 per tonne after rising from RMB 2,990 per tonne yesterday, learned Shanghai Metals Market.

However, in some major markets of China, the alumina spot price has recorded a rise. Such as in the east, central and north, the price has risen by RMB 30 per tonne to RMB 3,100 per tonne, RMB 3,120 per tonne and RMB 3,140 per tonne, while that in the south has climbed by RMB 25 per tonne to RMB 3,045 per tonne.
The Australian alumina FOB price has also registered a hike today by US$15 per tonne to stand at US$383 per tonne.
Other input costs such as bauxite, aluminium fluoride, and aluminium powder remain unchanged from RMB 540 per tonne, RMB 8,900 per tonne and RMB 17.80 per kg.
