UK metal aerosol packaging sales reached approximately 529 million units in 2025, with strong growth in selected personal care, household and food applications offsetting declines in other categories. UK metal aerosol packaging sales stood at around 529 million units in 2025, down from approximately 567 million units in 2016, according to data from the British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA), based on Euromonitor research. While the overall volume has declined over the decade, the figures point to a more mixed picture for the UK aerosol market. Several applications have recorded significant growth, with BAMA highlighting a positive pattern emerging since 2021 following the downturn during and after the pandemic. “Overall, we see a resilient performance in UK aerosol sales”, said...
According to SMM statistics, China's aluminium production in September 2026 (30 days) rose 2.2 per cent Y-o-Y and fell 3.2 per cent M-o-M. In September, downstream demand in China recovered somewhat M-o-M, but processing fees for some processed products remained under pressure, leading to production cuts and halts at some downstream enterprises. Purchase willingness for liquid aluminium subsequently weakened, dragging down the proportion of liquid aluminium output. The liquid aluminium ratio fell 0.5 percentage points M-o-M to 78.2 per cent during the month, coming in below expectations at the start of the month, with the main reductions coming from parts of central China and South China. Based on SMM's liquid aluminium ratio calculations, casting ingot production in China fell 6.2 per...

China's aluminium producers are eyeing Indonesia for setting up smelters like nickel manufacturers. Indonesia has shown interest in housing aluminium smelters as they have done with nickel. They want to stop exporting aluminium raw materials and working on getting foreign investors to build domestic smelters. Moreover, as imposed by President Xi Jinping's government, China's domestic capacity ceiling has reached its limit. A new Chinese-backed aluminium plant has already commenced operations in the Southeast Asian nation. The project is also backed by Tsingshan Group Holding, the company that led China's billions of dollars of investments in developing nickel plants in Indonesia. "Chinese aluminium companies have to go out of China if they want to expand, given the capacity ceiling,"...

Constellium SE and TARMAC Aerosave are collaborating to discover technologies and processes that will enable the recovery of aluminium from end-of-life aircraft. This innovative approach involves reusing aluminium within the aerospace value chain, thereby keeping its material properties and original performance intact. This method has proven advantageous since the carbon footprint of aluminium is more feasible in comparison with other elements used in aircraft production. Furthermore, using recycled aluminium adds to this advantage by significantly reducing CO2 emissions. It is noteworthy that recycled aluminium requires just 5% of the energy used for primary metal production, resulting in 95% lower CO2 emissions for the aluminium produced to craft commercial aircraft. TARMAC Aerosave's...
