The donation is part of Hydro’s partnership with the Norwegian Red Cross, which focuses on strengthening local communities and supporting emergency relief globally.
“Around the world, the Red Cross is a lifeline for people in crisis. This year their campaign to support children in war and conflict zones highlights the urgent need to support and protect those who are most vulnerable. I hope Hydro’s contribution helps strengthen this important work and reach the people who need it the most,” says Eivind Kallevik, President and CEO of Hydro.
In May 2025, Hydro and the Norwegian Red Cross announced a new partnership, aligned with Hydro’s social responsibility strategy and the company’s purpose to create a more viable society.
The Red Cross in Norway is a part of the largest humanitarian network in the world. It leverages its extensive global reach and local presence to strengthen local communities, and provides critical support before, during and after disasters, conflict, and hostilities.
Through the partnership, Hydro supports the Norwegian Red Cross with an annual total contribution of NOK 1.5 million to support the organisation’s work in Norway and humanitarian activities globally.
